Beautiful place. Great conversation. And most importantly… delicious food!
I don’t have to say much about our Vegan Bengaluru lunch potluck at Jaaga on the 24th of Sep. 2011. The pictures will say it all!
The People

The Spread
Mysore Pak
Hakka Noodles in Peanut Sauce
Pasta Salad
Poori
Sweet Tomato Curry
Steamed Ragi Sweet
Bread for Bruschetta
Topping for Bruschetta
Semiya Sweet
Multi-Bean Hummus
We also had this awesome Fusion Asian Style Semiya with Peanut Powder topping which was amazingly delicious! But sadly, I didn’t get a chance to grab a picture of it. It arrived after I’d started to eat and by the time I was done eating people had finished every last bit of it!

We don't really want to leave but we must disperse
Thanks to the awesome people of Jaaga for welcoming us to hold our September’s Vegan Bengaluru potluck at their beautiful space.
The Vegan Bengaluru has a potluck meeting every month and everyone is welcome to attend. For the month of October, 2011 we’ll be doing a buffet lunch at In The Pink Organic Restaurant instead of a potluck.
To join the fun, check out the Facebook event page here and RSVP.
And join our Vegan Bangalore Facebook Group to keep yourself updated about more of our events.
Ending this post with a sweet video shoot of our potluck event done by Clemence Barret of Jaaga. Thanks so much Clemence!

hello, i am interested in joining. i’m vegan and sugar free, used to be gluten free but can’t figure that part out in india. also used to be purely organic or home-grown foods but again that is difficult here. i heard about you from owner of kyra.
have been baking a lot here since i can’t find sweets to eat. would be happy to bake for a group too.
Wow! very inspiring to learn about vegan potlucks happening in Bangalore! The food looks lovely! Would you by any chance have the recipe for the mysore pak and the raagi sweet? They look delicious!
Hi Niru,
The Mysore Pak was made at In The Pink and brought to the potluck by Aparna (one of the co-owners of the restaurant/bazaar). http://inthepink.in
If you’re in Bangalore you could order Vegan Mysore Paks from them, if not, e-mail them and ask for the recipe.
The Ragi sweet was made by Arun, will ask him to send me the recipe and pass it on to you.
Hi Sowmya, we’d be happy to have you join us. If you’re on Facebook, join our group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/veganbengaluru/
If not, just keep an eye out on this blog to be updated about the latest events.
hi
i m not a vegan but a vegetarian (no eggs)…so had this doubt about store bought pasta and bread- i assume they have eggs…do we get eggless pasta as well
Hi Sudha, many of the dry, packaged pastas available don’t contain eggs. Barilla and Del Monte are two brands I can think of right now. Of course, it is always better to check ingredients each time before you buy.
Awesome news……I’m so happy to find veganism catching on in Bengaluru. Hope in the coming years, we Bharatiyaas show and lead the way in compassionate living.
GO VEGAN!!!!….from an bharatiya vegan in the US.
