    Hi,

I am really pleased to find a vegan Group in India.

I am intending to travel to India the first time. I am a strict vegan visiting Dehli and Bangalore. Do you have any kind of list with restaurants and shops where i can shop for food? How can I tell an Indian guy to prepare a meal without using ghee ?Is this possible at all?

    Thanks in advance

    Francis

    Hi Francis,

    Thanks for visiting!

Though there are many vegetarian restaurants, there are no vegan restaurants (in Bangalore anyway). But is possible to eat out. Just explain that you don’t want any dishes with milk, butter, ghee, paneer etc and they’ll tell you what’s available. Most foods are cooked in oil rather than ghee (since ghee is more expensive!). Also, eggs are considered ‘non-vegetarian’ so in a vegetarian restaurant you just have to explain you don’t eat milk products. I hope this is useful!
